Parking Warden argumentHaving just had an argument with a traffic warden, (not for me but my neighbour had parked his car on a double yellow).
First let me explain, the part where the double yellow is, it was put there so on a friday the bin men could get through the street easier as it was a bit tight for them if cars parked on both sides of the road. We are ok with that and understand, and support them ticketing cars that are parked on a friday at the time when the bin men come. However this was 9am Saturday morning. The car was not an obstruction and the road is a small road well away from town, there are no restrictions anywhere else around here for parking. Anyway he gave the guy a ticket while taking up a vital parking space himself. Therefore forcing others to park on the yellow lines. His argument was that he doesn't make the rules it is just his job. My argument is that he took the job, knowing he was the one enforcing the rules therefore he should take the consequences. If you don't want people having a go at you for what you are doing, don't do it. No amount of money in the world would make me take that job, other than to not put tickets on peoples cars and screwing the council over.
