How to stop vomiting? Firstly don't try and stop it, unless it has been going on for a long time. (in which case seek medical advice) The best way to stop vomiting is to allow the body to expel what it is that is causing the sickness. Don't take anything not even water until at least 4 hours after vomiting has stopped. It will stop eventually. My daughter once threw up for 36 hours and in the end it was just bile she was bringing up. But it did stop eventually. Taking nothing allows your body to go into autophagy, where it destroys viruses. Once it is stopped refrain from anything, your body is cleaning and healing allow it to do that. After about 4 hours of not vomiting then introduce plain cooled boiled water, nothing else. If you are able to keep that down, drink only that for a further 12 hours. Putting anything else in will probably result in further vomiting. Don't try and remedies, non will work as your body is trying to eliminate toxins and anything fed in will just feed the toxins.
If after 12 hours of boiled water you are able to keep that down, introduce cool melon. Melon provides rehydration and fructose as well as essential salts the body needs. Only eat melon for about a day. If this still remains down then introduce bananas, apples, rice and toast. Once you are able to keep this down for a day or so, you should find you can then start to reintroduce normal foods slowly. This method has never let me down yet, but I have noticed those that try and eat while vomiting simply prolong the vomiting. It is the bodies way of getting rid of toxins allow it to do so. It knows what is best for you.
I remember a friend and I both got sick at the same time, (we both ate the same meal at a restaurant) I did nothing and stopped being sick within hours and was back on my feet within 48 hours, she kept eating, drinking coke and taking allsorts, it took her nearly two weeks to recover.
